I am a theoretical physicist with the research background in statistical physics and a particular interest in out-of-equilibrium dynamics. I received my PhD from ETH Zurich, focusing on the coarse-graining procedures in complex fluids.

During my postdoc in Paris I began working on collective behavior in biological systems. In this highly interdisciplinary field, I am using methods from statistical physics for analyzing empirical data and formulating theoretical descriptions of the fundamental mechanisms governing collective behavior.

I am currently working in the COBBS group (Collective Behaviour in Biological Systems) with Andrea Cavagna and Irene Giardina. My main interests are group motion and collective decision-making exhibited by flocks of starlings, e.g. while performing collective turns.
