Anisotropies and non equilibrium in soft matter: routes to the self assembly of advanced material

My research activity deals with the Statistical Physics of Disordered and Complex Systems.
More recently, my interests have focused on collective phenomena in biology and, in particular, to self-organized collective behaviour. With my group and my collaborators we study, experimentally and theoretically, flocking behaviour in birds and insect swarming.
