My research activity deals with the Statistical Physics of Disordered and Complex Systems.

For many years I have worked on Spin Glasses, Structural glasses and other disordered models.

More recently, my interests have focused on collective phenomena in biology and, in particular, to self-organized collective behaviour. With my group and my collaborators we study, experimentally and theoretically, flocking behaviour in birds and insect swarming.
