My research interest is mainly dedicated to theoretical condensed matter physics. In particular my focus is on the so-called strongly correlated materials, in which the interction between the electrons is so strong to determine spectacular effects ranging from high-temperature superconductivity to colossal magnetoresistance passing through an amazing landscape of novel states of matter.

A good part of my activities is devoted to high-temperature superconductivity, a field in which I contributed with the proposal that strong correlations can favour phonon mediated superconductivity in fullerene-based conductors. Several predictions of my theory have been later confirmed experimentally.

I am also interested in the development of new theoretical tools to study correlated materials, mainly in the framework of the Dynamical Mean-Field Theory method.
